MULTIMEDIA SPECIALIST

Ready for meaningful work with a fun team? Food Bank of Iowa seeks a multimedia specialist to produce content for a variety of target audiences. This role uses and develops brand-consistent and compelling images, graphics, videos and messaging to convey and promote Food Bank of Iowa’s mission, vision and values across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, digital media or related field. Will consider a recent grad but prefer minimum two years of directly related professional experience. Proficiency in shooting and editing videos for social media is required. Outstanding graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other design programs. Significant knowledge of social media marketing, website analytics and SEO. Ability to create, edit and publish website content using WordPress. Strong written and oral communication skills, knowledge of AP Style and experience with email marketing platforms. Ability to work on multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy. Professional maturity, good judgment, integrity and honesty. Valid Iowa driver’s license.

Do you hold an FAA remote pilot certificate (drone license)? BONUS: We have the equipment.

This full-time position is housed in our Des Moines office.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and produce creative assets including videos, web and social content, flyers, newsletters, posters, ads, invitations, brochures and PowerPoint presentations
  • Manage Food Bank of Iowa’s social media presence across multiple platforms. Create, post and share compelling content on a regular schedule to engage target audiences.
  • Monitor social media channels for questions, comments, shares, tags and mentions. Respond on behalf of the organization, ensuring the vision and reputation of the food bank are upheld consistently and professionally.
  • Create and update website content
  • Contribute to Food Bank of Iowa’s storytelling and direct marketing initiatives
  • Manage the work of external vendors and assist with special projects as directed
  • Ensure brand consistency and voice
  • Identify and implement best practices and analytics to provide reports and inform ongoing strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with others to assess new and innovative content strategies
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation

Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Generous benefits including paid time off, volunteer time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement package. Off at 2 p.m. on Fridays. Paid seasonal closure over the holidays.
